Ok so I have a lil cash and i would love to make my money usefull. i want to own my own business and i know more then most on how to keep it going, but starting out im not too sure. I have bad credit also. my wife can help with that part though. what should i ask for at a bank. how do i get started?

42 yrs old, hated what i was doing and knew i would not earn what i needed (commission sales) started business in field which i had extensive knowledge and experience plus contacts. 50k sba backed loan. made money first year (paper loss) just sold co after 16 yrs…best thing i ever did.

best tip…first plan and research, second, plan and research, third look for all the flaws in 1 and 2 then adjust plan and research based on findings, then ask if you can live with worst case outcome if you can, go for it and make your plan. use the seven p’s proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance

I’m an art major in college, and I’d like to start a little portrait-drawing business this summer to make some extra cash. How would I go about doing this? Should I make a website? Flyers? How much should I charge for each drawing?

You could do it simply as a sole proprietor, if you wanted. You could do a website, but unless someone knows your out there, they may have trouble finding you. VistaPrint offers free business cards you can have printed, if you’d like to pass them out, but may not show people what you can do.

If you drew little portraits, I’ve often seen coffee shops displaying different drawings from independent artists. Perhaps you could offer to hang the painting, and give them a percentage of anything you make on them. In this case, you’d have to charge enough to cover your cost, your time, framing, and make enough for the owner of the place to consider putting your picture up. Perhaps you can even rotate the pieces of art between different shops too. When you frame them, make sure to put a business card under the glass so people can contact you for related projects (even if they don’t want the portrait).

I have certification but I have never worked in the field. Also I am an older woman I have been mostly out of the work force while raising children, I still have one child at home so would like to find a way to work from home.

That is why guys like Matthew Lesko who sells the secret of getting these grants is constantly under investigation for fraud, because he is selling a lie.

The government gives out grants to encourage specific behavior, but does not finance peoples start-up businesses. I work for a government agency and I have to answer this question everyday. There are no grants to finance business start-ups, there is no free money.

I would like to write up a business plan what should be included on this plan? What are important things that need to be considered? Is there a wevsite that is free that can help provide forms or checklists?

with semi trucks..and you need a license ..what type of license would you need..i am not talking about the type you drive with..but the type you would need to have your own business..? your name on the letter head..were you own the company?
