I need help coming up with a classy slogan for my wedding planning business?
I am opening up a wedding planning business and thought I would get some of your ideas on a good slogan for the business. The name is Visions Wedding & Event Boutique. My idea is to cater to a select number of brides to give them that individual attention they deserve, rather than trying to book a thousand brides and not having that one on one with them. Any suggestions??
First determine your unique or competitive advantage or unique selling proposition (USP), then craft a slogan or tag line. Your slogan will be a short or condensed version or your usp.
Your Unique Selling Proposition answers the question, “Why should I buy from you now, instead of from someone else?”. It defines who and what you are. It is the reason you are in business.
Why should prospects do business with you? How are they greater advantaged in doing business with you vs. any of your competitors?
Your unique advantages tell the marketplace what you offer that others don’t. It’s about being different from everyone else and clearly and succinctly communicating what you do for your customers. It’s what they get that makes you the decisive choice over and above all other options.
Most business owners think a USP is a catchy slogan. If you can create one that’s catchy that’s great, but you need to be sure the message is clear. Other businesses think the USP is about who they are or what they do. The truth is your USP is about what you do for the customer. A good USP will have your prospect saying, “Oh really? Tell me more!”

What do you think of this name for event planning business?
i have been trying to come up with a name for an event planning business i want to start. it would not be strictly weddings, but i’m sure that’s where most of my business will be.
i would like a name that is classy and modern. none of the typical names that you would associate with an event planning business.
so, i was thinking about magnolia events. what do you think?
also, if you have any suggestions for a tag line, it would be much appreciated! thanks!
Magnolia really doesn’t tell me anything about your business.
What about :
Chic Occasions.
"Creating Exquisite Memories"
I can already picture the logo with beautiful cursive text.
If you don’t like my idea – go to a thesaurus and type in a word you think describes your business idea. That will give you ideas – always works for me.
Good luck.
I want to start my own wedding planning business but….?
I want to start my own wedding planning business but I don’t have any experience working for a coordinator because nobody in my area has that type of business. (I’d be the first!) Any suggestions on how to get me going without an education or hand on training? I know alot through my own interests, friends that have gotten married, and all of the literature I’ve read on the industry of weddings.
You can learn the hard way, by doing.
Offer your services to friends about to get married, and put what you’ve learned to the test. You can ask for a fee but just run it under your own name using your personal taxes, you shouldn’t have to register a business.
Then after you’ve done it for a few friends and feel confident, enter the market, but do so at a lower rate than any competitors. Also let people know you are just starting out so that’s why you’re charging less. By being upfront with people you may find them a lot more willing to accept you.
Then as your skills increase and your confidence grows just charge more and make it official.
I would like to get into the wedding planning business. Can anyone give me some tips on how to get started?
I am a very creative artitstic individual. I think I would like to work in the wedding planning business. I am hardworking, and love to design, concepts and make things beautiful. I don’t know how I could get started in the wedding planning/events planning business. Does anyone ahve any ideas that would help me to get started.,
either do some wedding for free (for friends and family) or get a job at a company that does planning. No one will hire you without experience.
How to start a event planning business?
I want to start my own event planning business. I just need the basics. Is there anything special I need in order to start my business, like a degree, or can i just make it up and go from there?
No degree needed. The best way to drum up business is word of mouth. Put together some smaller events for friends, family, and close acquaintances. A long and strong referral list is what you need. Have a business plan; what kind of events do you want to specialize in?
Other than that go for it as you go along.
What do you need to start an event planning business?
I was thinking of starting an event planning business? But what all do I need to do it? Do you have to have office space or some kind of connections? And will it need a lot of start up money?
You absolutely need experience in event planning; plus good connections for suppliers; plus excellent reputation, references & referrals (to get any business); plus money & excellent credit. You need money & credit or no suppliers for services, products, etc. It is best if they have known you and done biz with you over a lengthy period so that they know you are reputable, pay your bills, and don’t muck up the orders for your clients.
The event planning biz has pretty much tanked in the recession/depression, everyone who has done hotel event management wants to get into the biz (since they’ve lost their jobs), and most of those who were already in the biz are totally desperate for biz and extremely competitive. You had better have sufficient income elsewhere (e.g. very well compensated spouse in a very secure job), plus about a year’s worth of biz expenses. You have to pay suppliers before the client pays you (and some clients are taking 90 – 180 days to pay, if they pay at all).
In short, unless you are superlative in this biz, have plenty of money, a sterling reputation, and a big-time celebrity client list, forget the whole idea. Bad timing. And I bet you don’t have the extensive experience, et al, you need to even start such a biz. If you did, you wouldn’t waste your time thinking about it, no less asking YA questions.
