If you don’t mind another suggestion, you might want to think about starting a blog or a website to help advertise your business.
In fact, since you’re just starting out, I’ll just give you a free wedding articles site to help you get started.
If you decide to use it, I hope you’ll visit my site before you purchase your domain and hosting. My company offers the cheapest .com domain price on the internet right now, and hosting for as little as $4.95 per month.
The first site link below will take you to the page to download your free wedding site (you’re welcome to download any of the free software I have there that you like)
The second link will take you to my hosting company.
Best of luck on your new business!

I have a graphic design project where I have to create a brochure. Since my cousin has spoken about wanting to open a event planning business, I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone: surprise her with the brochure & fulfill my project.
What’s a good name for the business?
Her name is April Showers so I came up with "Heavenly Showers Elite Events" but it doesn’t really roll of the tongue.

Eventricities
How do i go by starting a successful event planning business?
just basic event to begin with no weddings mostly looking to work in the corporate world planning small corporate business event.
first, look at the competition around you. see what they offer. make sure you can offer the same services or better.
second, make contacts. make sure you know where and who to call for locations, food, flowers, gifts, anything that you would need for your business. you may get a company that wants to throw a dinner and give their guest items with the company logo. make sure you know where you can get them. if you are going to place the order for the customer make sure you are dealing with someone who can deliver on a promise and not just tell you "it will be ready if 5days" and it takes two weeks.
Plan a couple of events for either friends and family just so that you can say that you have done it before. maybe see if companies want to have something plan and give them a huge discount for your services so that you have a good reference. its hard to trust someone to do something when they have either never done it before and cannot show you the quality of what they have done. good luck.
How do I find new clients for my Wedding Planning Business?
I have a non-standard wedding planning business and I need to find clients. Does anyone have some unique ideas on how to find new clients?
-Guerrilla Marketing ideas
-Cheap promotions
-Ways to get the word out
Hi when your starting a wedding planning business it is important to build connections..
You can try by offering free wedding planning for a few weddings. This will get you contacts with a few brides. You can post your free offer online at craigslist, facebook and your myspace bulletin.
You can also try connecting with other wedding vendors such as photographers, florist, videographers etc. You can offer them referrals from new clients, if they send you some brides.
You can try making postcards or business cards with your offer & placing it in grocery stores, bridal shops, hotels, etc.
If you have advertising money going to bridal shows are great you get connected with alot of brides in a short amount of time. Most shows bring in at least 100 brides and some can bring as much as 1,000 brides to the show in 1 day. Plus being at a show is another way for you to get your information out to other vendors who are at the show with you.
If you are looking for a long term marketing tool I would say your website is a big tool. You can start by buying things to get your lisiting unto the first page with your competition. Making sure you have links to other sites , try offering some vendors a trade off if they link to you , you will link to them .
Last important tool is a blog, having a blog that you keep updated can bring your site more attention & is another link you can add to your site.
I hope some of these ideas helped , I am in the wedding industry myself so best wishes to your new business venture.
