I am planning to start a home based business. I would be getting 1-2 pallets of merchandize a month but I don’t have space on my small condo. I was thinking of something like public storage but I dont know if this is the best solution or if there is anything cheaper that will also allow me to get access to these items on a daily basis. Depending on the business and how much you need, you can always look to family and friends, banks are a good source with a good business plan. And then you may also look into a SBA loan. Good Luck.

Banks generally aren’t in the business of loaning start-up capital. What you need to find is what is known as an "angel investor". Angel investors are private individuals or groups who loan start-up money, usually in exchange for a piece of the business.

To get an angel investor interested in your business idea, you need to have a rock solid business plan.

Rent for the business is deductible. Rent for your home is not.

1. Start a pet bakery business with doggie treats, fresh-baked cookies & ’scooby snacks’. Try some innovative dog recipes and brand them as your own.

2. Start a pet salon with affordable hair & skin treatments for neighborhood pets. This could include hair cuts & manicures, a mobile dog grooming service or detox solutions for dog skin problems.

3. Start a pet sitting business (doggie day care) for busy pet owners and others who want someone trusted to take care of their pets. There’s also the overnight pet care business if you’re looking for something different.

4. Start a pet rescue and/or first aid service to cater to the needs of trapped pets till animal rescue arrives. This could even be in an assistive role to animal rescue personnel, if you have the necessary experience.
