How I Use Metacognition
My company teaches seminars and is not in the traditional classroom setting however I believe metacognitive awareness can be promoted in this forum as well. I or my instructors only spend about three hours with each group that they have an opportunity to teach. I make sure that each presentation is completely interactive by combining many strategies that multiple learners may use. The strategies are focused on benefiting those students whose style of learning is in one of three distinct areas. Each presentation is specifically designed for the audio learner, visual learner and psychomotor learner. In the phase one of the presentation the students are presented the information to be learned in an instructor led classroom training.
